Weeks, not quarters, is a forcing function

Speed isn't a brag. It's how you keep scope honest.

A year-long engagement can hide anything: stalled workstreams, deliverables nobody reads, a team that's learned to perform progress instead of making it. A two-week diagnostic can't hide anything. When the deadline is days away, every activity has to either find money or build something, and the theater falls away on its own.

That's the real reason we ship in weeks. Not because fast is impressive, but because short clocks make everyone tell the truth: about the data, the process, and whether the thing is working. Including us. If we're wrong about where the money is, you find out in week two, not month eleven.

There's a second effect: momentum is a capability. A team that's shipped something real in two weeks believes the next thing is shippable too. A team that's been in “phase one” for two quarters believes nothing ships here. The first system you build is half deliverable, half proof that this company can move.
